Thank you for visiting the Denicher's Guernsey blog, over the coming weeks and months through stand-alone short stories I'll be introducing characters from a novel set on the Channel Island of Guernsey in 1835. The novel will tell The Story of William Denicher, a young man born and brought up in London who, when facing an uncertain future, travels to the island on the death of a grandfather he never knew and, despite being confronted by jealousy and a vicious foe, finds a place to belong. The Story of William Denicher will weave Guernsey history and folklore into a story containing a myriad of fictional characters and some real people and events with Guernsey a major character at its heart.

Guernsey's rich heritage, history, folklore and language will be shared along with the stories connected with the novel. I hope you'll enjoy the little tasters of Guernsey life as seen through the eyes of my characters and they'll encourage you to return and one day read the book.
